Ten Interesting Tidbits (or maybe not)
I’m a Hoosier by birth, and the fictional Indiana town in my Hawkstone series is a mixture of the cities where my family lived.
My first published story is No Leg to Stand On in the anthology Spicy Secrets by The Write Spice. We’re eight women authors who support one another through thick and thin. I’m known as the wielder of the red critique pen.
I’m a huge sports fan. NFL football rules Sundays in the fall, so much so that my daughter wrote a speech in middle school about my obsession. One of the items included asking me for things she knew I’d never agree to if I weren’t so absorbed in the games.
I have a SnapChat streak of over 3,000 consecutive days of snapping with my SIL. That’s over eight years, and we’re sure it has to be a record!
The pictures of the farm on this site are of our Hoosier Homestead Farm, meaning it’s been owned by the same family for over 100 years. I somehow want to incorporate the pics on my book covers.
Growing up, my dream was to write for the soap opera General Hospital. In high school, I wrote a soap opera, and kids would stop me in the halls to ask if they could be a character.
I correct people’s grammar. I’ve become my mother.
In one of my college creative writing courses, we had to keep a journal of anything writing-related. I always wonder if my professor rolled his eyes at the romance I wrote.
I am an avid reader of all genres, and I love playing cards and games. In school, we had “module” classes that weren’t part of the normal curriculum. I took German for one and the card game Euchre for my other. I remember Euchre more than I do the foreign language.
I hop from one celebrity crush to the other. As a teen, it was the teen idol singer Shaun Cassidy, whose pictures covered every inch of wall space in my bedroom. Currently, I worship Aquaman’s Jason Momoa and Lucifer’s Tom Ellis. Now that I write romance, I can justify having their photos (and cutouts) in my office.
